Our Board

Richard Harwood, Vice Chair

“I have lived in the Wakefield area for well over 30 years and experienced the quality of care provided by the NHS. Being a trustee of Healthwatch Wakefield gives me the ability to give a little back to local healthcare.”

Melvyn Ingleson

"I have a passion for supporting those organisations serving especially the vulnerable or voiceless. I have a continuing interest in how local voices influence health care policy and service improvement whilst being increasingly active in the wider West Yorkshire context of health and social care delivery.”

Andrew Kent

"My particular interests are governance, equality and diversity, primary care and older people, as well as promoting the making of informed decisions about health and care services to facilitate personal independence and wellbeing.”

Berni O'Brien

“Voice and feedback are invaluable tools and often overlooked when designing or improving services. I’m delighted to be a Trustee of Healthwatch Wakefield because I see the difference the team make when supporting people and empowering them to share their stories to help improve health and care services.”

Mary Roche

"I am a firm believer in the power of local voices to influence decision-making so that we can access the right health and social care services when needed. I am pleased to support the team to listen and collect evidence to make a difference because when people are really heard, their wellbeing improves with many physical and emotional benefits to themselves and their communities.”

Iain Wilkinson, Treasurer

"Our health services are something we have all used in the past and will almost certainly use again in the future. I think it is really important that providers of those services get the views of the users. I hope Healthwatch can make a positive difference to the lives of local people.”
